There are so many things to love about this afghan I barely know where to start! You will use a large 10mm hook so crocheting the blocks is surprising fast. You won’t need a longer Afghan hook as none of the blocks are bigger than 10 stitches, a hook with a straight shaft will be enough. All the blocks are joined as you work so there is no tedious joining when you should be finished! Not to mention the fact that a Tunisian stitch along with the 10mm hook creates a light, airy and deliciously warm blanket. I haven’t even mentioned the varying block sizes! Reminiscent of a Bargello quilt, a style which I am personally in love with.

As written the approximate finished size is 56” x 80”. However, you can easily add blocks as you work to make it longer and/or wider.

I have a hard time giving this pattern an experience level. First, you do have to know how to Tunisian crochet, stitches which I found very simple once I got the hang of them. If you know how to do Tunisian crochet stitches then this is a very easy afghan. You will be using a Tunisian Simple Stitch, a Tunisian Knit Stitch and a Tunisian Purl Stitch.

I’ve also included a block grid so that you can see at a glance the color, stitch count and type of stitch for each block. You will receive 2 PDF’s – the pattern and the grid. You can print the grid, trim and tape together for an easy visual instead of reading the whole pattern.
